Camping Across the South -- Part 2: Tampa & St. Pete
Okay, technically we didn’t “camp” while visiting my son in Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida. Jonathan was an absolutely great host and we slept at his house; enjoying the Cuban culture, celebrating (early) his birthday, and taking in a baseball game.

La Segunda
Who cares where ‘La Primera” is located?

Second to none

Here's the bakery before it opens
afterwards the line wraps around the block.

Decisions, decisions, decisions
… you cannot choose poorly as everything is delicious.

Two Cubanos, to go, please!

Here's how they're made.

More pastries, please!

This cigar factory has a museum.

El Reloj

It's a family-owned and run business.

Great museum

Nice store

There's plenty of history to learn.

The cigars are hand-rolled.

Who knew?!

The Cubano Sandwich
by the numbers.

The anatomy of a sandwich

The anatomy of a cigar

Cool model of a cigar-making desk

Happy Birthday, son!

Yum!

The coming of the Italians
explains how Tampa is a city of immigrants.

And Teddy Roosevelt
stopped by here too!

Historic restaurants are found thru-out Tampa

And social clubs shaped the local culture

"Take me out to the ball game."

What a catch!

The Tampa Bay Rays have been a winning franchise.

Air conditioned baseball
is cool (pardon the pun).
