A Gastronomical Trifecta: Visiting Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown
Julia wanted to show me her alma mater: William & Mary College.
I wanted to see a few historic sites from Colonial America, collect a few “stamps” for my National Parks passport, and check out a few good places to eat.
We decided on a gastronomical tour that accomplished all our objectives. So where did we eat?
Pierce’s Pitt Bar-B-Que
The Cheese Shop
The Raleigh Tavern
Picked up desserts at a colonial bakery, and did a little “home cooking” at our hotel suite.
What did we do to “walk off” all those calories?
We enjoyed the holiday spirit all along “D.O.G. Street” and in WIlliamsburg’s Market Square
We toured Colonial Jamestown and said hello to Pocahontas, and
We conducted a “terrain walk” among the battlefield sites of Yorktown.
And as for Julia’s and my private tour of Colonial Williamsburg’s Duke of Gloucester Street and the William & Mary College campus. Here are a few special photos from this walk about.
