Fallingwater - An architectural masterpiece in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania
Deep in the woods of Pennsylvania is the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural masterpiece, Fallingwater.
This is a destination worthy of one scheduling the entire day for as there’s not only a tour of the grounds but several hiking trails available to adventurous visitors.
Your tour will reveal oh-so-many architectural innovations and one shouldn’t be embarrassed to be the tourist who asks questions. Each of the guides we’ve met are well versed in the life of FLW and of the owners of this home, the Kaufmann family. The gift shop and cafe are tastefully designed and set apart from the Kaufmann’s historic summer residence.
If you decide to visit Fallingwater, check out their website or call ahead as tours are managed by appointment. Of course if you don’t call ahead, consider taking a hike along the well-marked trail that features a wonderful view of Bear Run and the Laurel Highlands.
Fans of Frank Lloyd Wright genius will not be disappointed by visiting this summer house. I’ve visited several times and each time I learn something new about this innovator.
