"I want to go back to Philmont"

The Philmont Scout Ranch is a very special place. To many Scouts and Scouters it’s home. In 2021, Julia convinced me that I just had to go to the Philmont Training Center and experience its “magic” for myself. So she co-facilitated a conference entitled the “Second Century of Service” during Week #1 for Commissioners in the Boy Scouts of America. And I enjoyed being a so-called “Silverado” — an adult tag-along — free to enjoy going on hikes, to the shooting ranges, touring the Villa Philmonte, visiting the National Museum of Scouting, etc., etc., etc.

Oh yeah … There was also opportunities to go fly fishing, visit down town Cimarron, Colfax, Rayedo Ridge, and take plenty of photos.
